happy birthday from scooter
want to see your birthday on a scooter odometer? send your dates over!
i'm starting a new series of blog posts where i take pictures of my scooter's odometer when it hits a friend's birthday. i won't post names, only pictures -- you know who you are! i will also post as soon as the date shows on the odometer, so the surprise may not arrive on your birthday -- in fact, it may be way way off -- but hey, scooters live in another dimension of time you know!
since i got the scooter at 334 miles, i can only start from april birthdays. today, our very first feature birthday is April 9th -- happy birthday!! (i actually stopped on my way home to take this picture!)
this might be a true test of my memory and attention to friends' birthdays. i'll try, but if you want to make sure, send your dates over please! :) scooter also agrees to do anniversaries, at a special rate...

Cute idea. But what about people with birthdays before April?
you mean people like me? well, we'll all have to wait till i hit 1k, 2k, and 3k miles. then i can add the tenth and have 5-digit dates: MDDYY. of courses, to be accurate to the tenth means stopping on the road might get dangerous, so people might start seeing me circling empty parking lots!
I like the new profile pic by the way. How did you get that effect?
the new imacs and macbooks all have a camera built in and have a photobooth software that takes pictures with different effects. this one is 'pencil sketches' i think. i don't have a mac yet (took it at work on a public machine) but have been envying a mac for a long time -- many nice things over PCs...
